The Coast Line - SOS Newsletter - Spring 2020
We are celebrating a big milestone as the City Council has voted to fund a Sand Retention and Replenishment Study. The study will be contracted out to GHD Group, a professional engineering firm with extensive experience designing coastal improvement projects. This is a very important first step towards restoring our beaches, thank you City Council and Public Works Director Kiel Kroger!

The Coast Line - SOS Newsletter - Winter 2020
Our Winter quarterly meeting will be held Tuesday, February 18 at 6pm and feature guest speaker, Oceanside City Principal Planner Russ Cunningham. Russ will be speaking about the City's effort to update our Local Coastal Plan with the California Coastal Commission. The LCP will guide future development in Oceanside and be an important resource for adapting to sea-level rise.

It's unanimous, our City Council has launched an effort to restore our beaches! On October 9, 2019, the City Council members all agreed to amend the City General Fund and direct staff to determine the cost for a sand retention study. A common theme is we all agree the beach sand retention solution must be supported by sound engineering and scientific data.
