A fun and informative meeting was held at Bagby Beer Co. on Sept. 23, 2019. • Guest speaker, Brian Leslie, Coastal Scientist at GHD Consulting, gave a presentation covering various options to restore our beaches. Brian recently completed the restoration of the Cardiff Living Shoreline, which includes sand dunes and native vegetation with an underground rock quarry to protect PCH from coastal flooding. This is project is being studied and considered for other coastal locations. • Board Member, Bob Aston gave a short lesson on Beach Basics 101. • Co-Director Nick Ricci recapped our introduction at the regional SANDAG Shoreline Working Group Meeting, meeting officials from all the coastal cities and scientists from Scripps.
