Nick Ricci

Save Oceanside Sand Founding director, Public Relations

Nick grew up in San Diego and on the beaches of San Diego. He is a graduate of San Diego State University, He earned his Secondary Teaching Credential from San Diego State University and earned a master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of La Verne. He spent 36 years working with high-risk high school students. He was a counselor and the administrator of a state of California grant-funded school-within-a-school and was the team leader for a hand-selected group of teachers. He spent 12 years working with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. He provided mission support to local and federal agencies in this volunteer position. His missions ranged from mudslide disaster relief to recovering incorrectly demilitarized F-15 Navy fighters.

Nick is retired and has lived in Oceanside for the past 15 years. While he has been involved as an advocate for other causes in the city, sand replenishment, and retention is the most important problem facing our city. As a result of this dire condition, Save Oceanside Sand is now his primary and only focus.
