Bob Ashton

Save Oceanside Sand President, CEO

Bob is a retired Navy Master Chief Submariner/Navy Diver who retired after 30 years devoted to all facets of world-wide submarine, diving, and submersible operations.

He grew up in Oceanside and has been an avid waterman and Oceanside resident since 1962. He is a semi-retired small business partner who joined the SOS Oceanside team shortly after formation in 2019. Bob is passionate about making a difference through continuous research, education, and community outreach. He established the SOS Citizen Science program.

In January 2022, he was selected as SOS Executive Director; in January 2023, he was chosen as the SOS President. Bob currently resides in Fire Mountain with his wife, Amy.
