Fellow Oceanside Beach Lovers, I hope this finds you enjoying the last days of summer as we move towards some of the best “late summer” months to enjoy our Oceanside shoreline and beach culture, we all hold so dear! We certainly are experiencing some exciting times for our shoreline, with the city actively developing a plan to protect our coastal habitat by restoring our beaches. The Oceanside Sand Nourishment and Retention Pilot Project – Phase 2 - RE:BEACH is well underway! RE:BEACH is a Coastal Resilience Competition bringing together 3 design teams from around the world to develop innovative sand retention pilot projects for the City of Oceanside. Only 1 team, and their winning design, will be selected to move into final engineering and permitting at the completion of the competition. Come out and be a part of the process this Tuesday at the first of three public workshops where you can hear firsthand from the three design teams about their designs and approach to restoring resilience to our shoreline!
