Dear SOS Team, As our โsecond summerโ transitions into Fall, the RE:BEACH design firms continue to update their innovative designs to restore and retain sand on our beaches. Each contestant is moving towards final designs that will provide impactful solutions to protect our coastal habitat and beach culture. We encourage our members to be a part of the RE:BEACH process by viewing the 2nd public workshop designs and providing feedback on the survey there. Make sure to save the 13th of December on your calendar, which is the 3rd and final public workshop. Location and time to be announcedโฆ log on to RE:BEACH, join the mailing list, and they will provide you updates every step of the way. In other news, Save Oceanside Sand is seeking nominations for its Board of Directors. SOS continues to make a difference by influencing and supporting the City of Oceanside to develop enduring and sustainable solutions to restore and retain sand on our shoreline, restoring our coastal habitat. SOS has opened nominations for passionate and committed individuals who are interested in being a part of this journey. As a SOS board member, you would be part of a talented team who guide SOS to achieve its goals of education and outreach. We stagger our directorsโ terms and currently have 3 of our 7 board positions up for re-election/new candidate consideration for the January 2024 โ December 2025 term. If elected, working with fellow board members, your duties may include: Serving a two-year term, 1 January 2024 โ 31 December 2025, Developing SOS goals; putting plans in place to execute them, Preparing for and attending monthly SOS BOD meetings, Organizing and establishing committees to support/achieve SOS goals, Reviewing/approving budgets/funding to support execution of SOS goals, Communicating regularly with and being responsive to SOS team members and the community, Public speaking at City, County, State, and other public venues on coastal issues.
Nomination Requirements: Any SOS member may nominate you or you may nominate yourself. Age - Nominee must be over 18. Nominee shall be very familiar with SOS mission, goals, and its work over the past 4 years. Nominee shall have attended at least one SOS event or meeting within the last 12 months. Nominee should embrace the beach culture that identifies Oceanside and its beach community.

2. Say why you want to be a SOS board member,
3. Provide a brief description of your prior involvement with SOS or other organizations, leadership roles etc.
