SOS understands that a healthy local economy depends on a healthy coastal habitat and sandy beaches.
If you are new to SOS, here’s what we’re about.

Tomorrow (12/13), two BIG events!

From 4 to 7 p.m., RE:BEACH is hosting the final Public Coastal Resiliency Workshop at the Junior Seau Beach Community Center (at the base of the Oceanside Pier), so you can grab provisions from Camp Coffee and walk down to meet with us. Be sure to wear your SOS t-shirts in solidarity - it’s always fun!

All day, please join us at Camp Coffee Company (101 N. Cleveland Avenue in downtown O’side) between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. in support of SOS FUNdraising efforts.
This is our final Dine/Shop & Donate event of the year. 10% of every sale, in-store and online, will be generously donated to us.

A message from SOS President, Bob Ashton

Happy Holidays SOS Community,

On behalf of the entire Save Oceanside Sand team, wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!  Together, we’ve accomplished quite a bit this past year. Our beach pop-up events provided amazing education and outreach which was also supported by our first year SOS High School intern program. It continued to raise awareness of the potential solutions to restore and retain sand and provided valuable information on RE:BEACH.  
The Citizen Science program continued to collect Oceanside shoreline data each month and has expanded to include North Carlsbad beaches and some new drone data collection.  
This vital data is providing baseline ground truth on our beach profiles for the RE:BEACH project.  
SOS also became approved as a 501(C)(3) charitable organization!

All these accomplishments wouldn’t have happened without our SOS community support, involvement and volunteers! We are currently crafting our goals for 2024 to expand in the areas of education and outreach as well as continuing the programs mentioned above.   

Please get involved with us by donating and/or volunteering.
Your involvement is crucial to our success.

Lastly, remember to come down to the Junior Seau Community Center tomorrow, Wednesday December 13th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, to hear the last and final design proposals from the RE:BEACH design competitors! It is our opportunity to see first-hand what potential solutions can restore and retain sand on our shoreline. Hope to see you all there. On the way to RE:BEACH, be sure to stop by Camp Coffee and grab a refreshment or some merchandise and support SOS while supporting Camp Coffee too!
